The Role

We are looking for a Senior Analytics & BI Developer (m/f/d) who combines technical expertise with a strong sense for business. Your mission: transform complex data into actionable insights that power business‑critical decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of our dbt‑based transformation layer
  • Build robust, modular, and well‑documented semantic models for BI tools or data products that allow us to understand and enhance business performance
  • Ensure high data quality, consistency, and test coverage throughout the data lifecycle. Work closely with data analysts and data users to ensure that data is easy to use, trustworthy, and reduces time to insight
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to define business requirements and translate them into reliable data models
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure alignment of dbt transformations with our new Snowflake‑based data platform infrastructure
  • Establish and promote best practices in testing, performance optimization, and documentation
  • Turn models into insights that present data in a clear, actionable format for stakeholders
  • Contribute to shaping a modern data culture across the organization
Tech Stack You Will Work With

  • Transformation / Modeling: dbt (Core or Cloud)
  • Cloud Data Platform: Snowflake

  • Testing & QA: Data quality test and data validations approaches
  • Nice to have: Git, CI/CD pipelines
What We Are Looking For
  • 6+ years of experience in an analytics & BI development, data modeling, or analytics engineering role
  • Proven hands‑on experience with dbt in a production environment — building from scratch and refactoring existing models
  • Deep expertise in SQL and dimensional/semantic modeling (e.g., Kimball, DRY modeling principles, query optimization, execution plans, schema design)
  • Hands‑on experience working with Snowflake or another modern cloud data platform (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
  • A track record of building clean, modular, reusable data models and transformation logic
  • Strong understanding of data testing, documentation, and performance tuning
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable data models
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non‑technical teams
  • A builder mindset: excited to shape foundational data architecture in a growing environment
  • Fluency in English is essential
Nice to Have
  • Experience in insurance or financial services data models
  • Experience introducing dbt or analytics engineering practices in an early‑stage environment
  • German language skills are a strong plus
