Privatal in Frankfurt is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team on a hybrid basis. You will own monthly and annual closings, prepare financial statements, manage GL reconciliations, and work with auditors and tax advisors to support the group’s acquisition-driven growth.

The role requires German GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and ERP skills, and fluency in German with professional English. You will help standardise processes and scale finance across multiple entities.

We are partnering with one of Germany’s fastest growing financial services businesses to appoint a Senior Accountant in Frankfurt.

As the group grows, Finance is becoming increasingly important. You will join at a stage where you can take real ownership, improve how things are done and help build an accounting function capable of supporting the company’s next phase of growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of monthly and annual financial closing activities
• Preparing accurate financial statements and ensuring balance-sheet integrity
• Managing general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals and provisions
• Supporting accounting and reporting across multiple group entities
• Working closely with auditors, tax advisers and internal stakeholders
• Helping integrate newly acquired businesses into the group’s finance structure
• Improving, standardising and automating accounting processes
• Supporting wider finance projects as the organisation continues to scale

You are likely to be an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive and improvement-focused mindset.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Professional accounting experience
• Knowledge of German GAAP/HGB

• Confidence working with general ledger accounts, reconciliations and financial statements
• Experience within a multi-entity, international or fast-growing business

Experience in financial services, insurance, private equity or a business that has grown through acquisitions would be valuable, but it is not essential.
