Job summary

Atmoce in Frankfurt is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join our Shared Service Center. You will own the finance operations of our German entity, moving from daily transactional accounting to full closing, compliance, and reporting.

You will act as the financial anchor, coordinating with local operations, external advisors, and global HQ to ensure accurate, timely statements. The role requires 3+ years in accounting, strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS, hands-on VAT experience, and fluency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience (audit background is a plus).
• Strong fundamentals with knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS.
• Hands-on experience handling EU VAT topics.
• Proven track record of driving month-end closing and reconciliations.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute the full day-to-day accounting cycle, including AR, AP, banking, GL, and fixed assets.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring precise balance sheet reconciliations.
• After closing, provide the TB to the external accounting service provider and support them in completing tax filings, annual financial statements, and other local compliance matters. Liaise and coordinate with the provider, and respond promptly to their review comments and queries.
• Own German and EU VAT matters, including cross-border transactions and reverse charge mechanisms. Prepare the data required for filings and support the external provider in completing VAT returns and refunds.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages for HQ.
• Independently review trial balances, identify accounting issues, and implement root-cause corrections.
• Act as the primary local contact and coordinator for external auditors, tax advisors, and financial service providers.
• Gradually assume full accounting and reporting ownership for smaller upcoming European entities.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and highly autonomous Senior Accountant to join our Shared Service Center (SSC) and take full, end-to-end ownership of the finance operations of our legal entity in the Frankfurt office. This position combines hands-on execution with high operational ownership. Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional proficiency or conversational skills in German, French, Spanish, or Dutch (highly advantageous for local authority coordination).
