Responsibilities
  • Hands-on Sales Leadership to generate New Business: From identifying and qualifying opportunities to closing deals, personally engaging with public sector prospects and clients, leading by example with direct sales calls, meetings, and negotiations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage and expand existing public sector client accounts: Develop and implement strategies to nurture current public sector client relationships, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Conduct public sector-specific research: Based on Cloudflight’s ideal customer profile, identify digital business models and contacts within the public sector, and conduct targeted outreach
  • Build and develop strategic partnerships: Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the German public sector, leveraging your network or your ability to build one
  • Report and analyse performance: Regularly report on sales metrics, market feedback, and performance, ensuring ongoing optimization of sales processes
  • Bid & Tender Management: Take full ownership of complex public procurement tenders, from the participation application to handover to delivery. In collaboration with internal teams (e.g., Tender Management, Delivery, Legal), the Seller is responsible for assembling the deal team, coordinating all efforts, and ensuring seamless execution throughout the process
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and work in a team of passionate Account Executives: Work closely with our marketing, product, legal and finance teams, to align strategies, gather insights and information needed to create a compelling bid and ensure market fit
Qualifications
  • Experience in IT services for the public sector: 5+ years of experience managing complex sales processes within political and public decision-making structures and understanding of legal framework conditions in the public sector, ideally with an existing network within Germany’s public sector as well as knowledge of the EVB-IT contract and its application
  • Motivation & drive: A passion for growth and achieving ambitious targets, you are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and committed to success
  • Client-centric approach & market knowledge: Understand the challenges and problems faced by public sector clients in emerging technologies. You offer solutions in your sales story and create value for our clients
  • Public Sector Network: Existing contacts with ministries or government agencies are an advantage
  • Data management: Ability to maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data (e.g., HubSpot) and experience with complex pursuit processes, proposal development, and presentations that win new business
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English, with the ability to work with people from different national and international locations
