Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a German-based Senior SAP ABAP Developer (f/m/d) to drive the digital transformation in an international, cross-functional team. You will design end-to-end ERP solutions and contribute to SAP best practices.

The role offers collaboration in agile environments, a focus on ABAP, and a path toward S/4HANA strategies with a broad, multi-domain scope on site at Immenstaad.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in IT (or equivalent) and 10+ years of ABAP development experience (S/4HANA preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OO-ABAP, Adobe Forms, DDIC, BAPIs, IDOCs, OData, Web Services, and Enhancement Framework.

Aufgaben

• Develop, test, and maintain ABAP code while writing technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Key Users/Service Owners; apply SAP best practices.
• Perform root-cause analysis and drive quality, performance, and security improvements.
• Contribute to S/4HANA strategies and ensure Change Management compliance.
• Mentor junior developers within the department.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Development & Maintenance: Develop, test, and maintain ABAP code while writing technical documentation.
• Collaboration & Standards: Work closely with Key Users/Service Owners and apply Airbus development standards and SAP Best Practices.
• Optimization & Analysis: Perform root‑cause analysis and drive quality, performance, and security improvements.
• Future Strategy & Change Management: Contribute to S/4HANA strategies and ensure compliance within the Change Management process.
• Mentoring: Guide, coach, and mentor junior developers within the department.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Education & Experience: Degree in IT (or equivalent) and 10+ years of practical experience in ABAP programming (S/4HANA preferred).
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of OO‑ABAP, Adobe Forms, DDIC, BAPIs, IDOCs, OData, Web Services, and Enhancement Framework.
• Functional & Extra Skills: Experience in core SAP modules (e.g., FI‑CO, SD, MM, PP, EWM) and SAP certifications are a plus.
• Soft Skills & Leadership: Analytical thinking, problem‑solving mindset, team spirit, and the ability/willingness to coach new colleagues.
• Languages: Strong communication skills in both German (C2) and English are a must.
