Optimus Search is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Service Engineer in Germany to install, commission, and maintain advanced wafer processing systems at customer sites. The role requires hands-on fault finding, calibration, and performance optimization across electrical, mechanical, vacuum, optical, and software domains.

You will travel extensively within Germany and internationally to support installations, commissioning, and field service activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifikationen

We're working with leading semiconductor equipment manufacturers and technology innovators to recruit experienced Semiconductor Equipment Service Engineers. This is an opportunity to work with advanced wafer processing, lithography, metrology, inspection, and process equipment used to manufacture the world's most sophisticated semiconductor devices.

As a Semiconductor Equipment Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and optimising complex semiconductor manufacturing systems. You'll work directly with customers, ensuring equipment delivers the precision, reliability, and performance required in high-volume production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and qualify advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and equipment modifications to maximise uptime and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, optical, vacuum, and software-related faults.
• Carry out equipment calibration, precision alignment, and performance optimisation.
• Support customer acceptance testing, process qualification, and production ramp-up activities.
• Deliver technical training and provide ongoing customer support.
• Produce detailed service reports and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Applications, Product Support, R&D, and Engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Experience servicing, commissioning, or supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical, vacuum, optical, or mechatronic systems.
• Experience working in semiconductor fabrication facilities or cleanroom environments.
• Understanding of wafer processing equipment, lithography, deposition, etch, metrology, inspection, or related semiconductor technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel throughout Germany and internationally as required.
• Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Lithography, wafer inspection, optical metrology, CVD, PVD, ALD, CMP, etch, or ion implantation equipment.
• Vacuum systems, RF technologies, robotics, precision motion control, or automation.
• Laser systems, optics, or precision alignment techniques.
• PLCs, industrial networking, or semiconductor process control.
• Previous experience with OEM field service, equipment installation, or customer support.
