A leading security services provider in Stuttgart is seeking a Physical Security Specialist to develop and administer security policies and provide training on security matters. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and several years of specialized experience. This role includes coordinating programs to protect personnel and information, as well as conducting security training. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and administering operational policies, procedures, and standards. The objective of Physical Security support is to implement the “Four Pillars” of SOCAFRICA security programs: Personnel Security, Information Security, Industrial Security and Physical Security.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and control assigned programs to protect information, personnel, property, and/or material from unauthorized disclosure, theft, assault, or sabotage. Implement policies and procedures to ensure proper handling of classified information. Under the direction of the Security Management Officer, perform security violation investigations and conduct periodic/annual physical security surveys/inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulations; initiate actions to correct deficiencies when required. Coordinate with local federal law enforcement agencies as appropriate.
• Initiate or renew background investigations utilizing automated investigation programs such as E-QIP and PSIP. Coordinate with external agencies (i.e., OPM, Defense Investigative Service (DIS), Defense Information System for Security (DISS)) relative to the conduct of background investigations. Capture and transmit recorded fingerprints. Send and receive visit notifications via DISS. Verify personnel granted access to classified information have the requisite level of security clearance and approval.
• Plan, organize, and conduct training programs to acquaint and instruct personnel in physical security matters and to alert them to dangers of espionage, sabotage, fraud, and theft. Conduct initial and annual security refresher training.
• Support given between 0730 to 1700, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must complete Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification and obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two (2) years of assignment.
• Must be willing to travel on TDY occasionally.
• Master's degree in a related field and 3 years of recent specialized experience; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of recent specialized experience; OR 10 years of recent specialized experience.
