For our client, a leading company in the field of communication and information technologies, we are looking for an IT Security Engineer (m/f/x) at the Leipzig location.

Responsibilities

• Strategic development and optimization of monitoring use cases, as well as implementation of rule-based alert mechanisms to identify security-critical anomalies
• Active participation in the Cyber Detection & Response Center, with a focus on reducing false positives, increasing automation and improving processes
• Analysis and assessment of security-related incidents, especially concerning critical systems
• Close collaboration with IT teams at international locations, including topics such as malware, vulnerability management, and device protection
• Maintenance and continuous improvement of internal documentation, such as manuals, technical overviews, and process descriptions

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or a similar qualification, plus experience in an international cybersecurity field
• Very good knowledge in the use of SIEM/SOAR systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions
• Experience in scripting (especially with Python), log data analysis, and REST APIs
• Familiarity with current cybersecurity frameworks and their application in detection and response processes
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems; initial experience with machine learning in IT security is a plus
• Experience in SOC/CDRC architecture as well as in cloud security (AWS, Azure) and with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker)
• Excellent English, knowledge of German is a great advantage
