Ascendis Pharma is seeking an Associate Scientist (M.Sc.) or Scientist (Ph.D.) to join our Protein Chemistry team in Heidelberg. You will design, synthesize, and characterize therapeutic protein conjugates for preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree, has hands-on protein chemistry and bioconjugation experience, and is proficient with chromatography and mass spectrometry. Excellent communication in English is required.

Qualifikationen

• Exceptional Master’s degree (Associate Scientist) or doctoral degree (Scientist) in biochemistry or a closely related field
• Strong theoretical foundation and hands‑on expertise in protein chemistry and analytical techniques, including SEC, IEC, SDS‑PAGE, RP‑HPLC, bioconjugation, and TFF
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating Äkta and Agilent chromatography systems
• Solid understanding of protein mass spectrometry
• Proven creativity in developing synthetic strategies for complex protein conjugates
• Collaborative mindset with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research
• Independent, well‑organized, and methodical approach to work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working proficiency in German is desirable
