Ascendis Pharma in Heidelberg is seeking an Associate Scientist (M.Sc.) or Scientist (Ph.D.) to join our Protein Chemistry team. You will design, synthesize and characterize therapeutic protein conjugates, supporting pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo studies.

Qualifikationen

• Exceptional Master’s degree (Associate Scientist) or doctoral degree (Scientist) in biochemistry or a closely related field.
• Strong theoretical foundation and hands-on expertise in protein chemistry and analytical techniques.
• Proven creativity in developing synthetic strategies for complex protein conjugates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working German is desirable.

Your Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Strong theoretical foundation and hands‑on expertise in protein chemistry and analytical techniques, including SEC, IEC, SDS‑PAGE, RP‑HPLC, bioconjugation, and TFF
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating Äkta and Agilent chromatography systems
• Solid understanding of protein mass spectrometry
• Proven creativity in developing synthetic strategies for complex protein conjugates
• Collaborative mindset with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research
• Independent, well‑organized, and methodical approach to work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working proficiency in German is desirable
