Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
For our location in Berlin-Adlershof, Germany, we are looking for a
Scientist, Integrated Optics (m/f/d)
Design, development, and characterization of novel integrated optical waveguide and photonic components in glass and other platforms for large scale optical circuits, shuffles, fiber to chip coupling, and chip-to-chip interconnects. Knowledge in the areas of optics, mechanics, materials science, and electrical engineering is required to create efficient and high-bandwidth optical interconnect solutions for AI clusters, datacenter networks, and advanced computing applications. The work includes simulation and modeling of new designs for fabrication and collaboration with other scientists and engineers to build prototypes for testing and validation to expand state‑of‑the‑art.
