This exciting position is situated within the sub-chapter MassSpec Biostatistics & Digital Solutions , a core component of Roche Diagnostics' cutting-edge Research & Development division. You will be an integral part of a highly qualified team of 22 dedicated professionals, contributing to a broader chapter Biostatistics & Data Science Core Lab and Near Patient Care that boasts over 140 colleagues with diverse backgrounds in statistics, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, and similar.
The primary focus of the Scientific Software-Engineer Biostatistics Intranet-Platform (m/f/d) revolves around developing and maintaining an R/Shiny-based platform. This robust platform is designed to deliver validated statistical analyses to a wide array of internal and external customers focussing mainly on analytical performance experiments of IVD-assays, Quality Control of production processes, and standardization of IVD-assays.
Planning and development of analysis modules running on the R/shiny based intranet-platform
Planning and development of R-packages serving as the numerical core for statistical analyses deployed on the intranet-platform
Collect user requirements and transform it into technical specifications
Administrating Linux-servers and maintaining the IT-infrastructure
Contribute to the re-design of the platform architecture for increased robustness & better scalability, integrating core analyses developed in R-packages
Keeping up the validation status of the platform
Implementation of an end-to-end test concept including backend- and frontend-testing
Master\'s degree (preferably PhD) in (bio)informatics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, with demonstrated professional experience in software development if holding a Master\'s.
You are an Expert proficiency in R (including R/Shiny) and/or Python (e.g., Flask) with experience in modern web technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
You have Solid foundation in biostatistics, applied mathematics, numerics, and standard software development practices (version control, change management)
Your experience with GxP regulated software is highly desirable and you are fluent in German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory
You can convey complex, technical concepts simply and precisely
Efficient communication with colleagues and stakeholders is important to you
Analytical thinking and creativity are just as much a part of your skillset as accuracy and diligence when handling complex projects
This position is limited to 2 years.
