Your career

As SpiNNcloud's Scientific Business Development Manager, you will lead the orchestration of compelling project proposals in collaboration with public, scientific, and corporate entities. Your key responsibilities include managing internal timelines, engaging effectively with consortium partners, and guiding the drafting of both hardware and software proposals. Central to your role is the strategic development of winning proposals, where your innovative approach will highlight the unique aspects of SpiNNcloud's offerings.

Your role is crucial in ensuring that every proposal strictly adheres to all legal, technical, and financial requirements, aligning with the detailed specifications of each RFP. You will also be responsible for refining our proposal development process, introducing and maintaining industry best practices to enhance the quality and success rate of our submissions. In this position, your contribution will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of SpiNNcloud in the AI supercomputing industry.

Your experience

Extensive experience in scientific writing and/or grant administration is a minimum requirement . A master’s degree in public administration , nonprofit management, finance finance, or related field will be a strong plus for your application . Alternatively, a Dr.-Ing. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematical sciences, or any other related computationally intensive fi eld in which you have made scientific contributions is also a strong plus to ensure a good technical understanding of the field.

Native-level proficiency in English and in German, with exceptional skills in scientific and technical writing a s well as professional communication to convey complex ideas and engaging effectively with various stakeholders .

Rigour in ensuring compliance with not only organizational rules, but also with underlying laws and regulations; adapt in contract management, fund management and result re p orting, ensuring all proposals align with internal and external standards ; knowledge in grant law is a plus .

Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously , communicating with all shareholders in a timely manner and meeting deadlines .

Attention to detail in monitoring and evaluation, and ability to maintain accurate records to assess program success and adherence to the goals .

Solid understanding of numbers and proficiency in budgeting and accounting for project funds , responsible for crafting detailed financial plannings, reports at various stages of the project and final accounting summaries .

The Scientific Business Development Manager at SpiNNcloud plays a vital role in bridging various departments to revolutionize how we apply for, man age, an d utilize grants. In this key position, you wi ll act as the lynchpin among Strategic General Management, Technology Development and Innovations, Project and Account Management, and Finance and Accounting. Supported by a dedicated team, your role is to enhance the effectiveness of our grant programs through strategic planning, meticulous administration, and effective communication.

As an integral part of our project management team, you will ensure that our innovation processes remain cutting-edge . Liaising with team members and potential partners, you will grasp the full scope and objectives of each project. You will be pivotal in most of our research projects, acting as the crucial link between funding and project delivery, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Your role is essential in keeping our innovation at the forefront of the AI technology race.

Additionally, you will support the R&D team by structuring the process of generating study designs and project proposals, engaging scientifically with scientists and decision makers. This involves identifying new sales opportunities and providing scientific guidance for the design of Proof of Concepts ( PoCs ). Your role entails effective stakeholder management and maintaining cross-functional relationships with the R&D team, C-level executives, the technology team, and sales and marketing teams. Working closely with the R&D team, you will gain insights into new developments and collaborate in designing PoCs , highlighting the benefits of our technology. To summarize , our new Scientific BD Grants Manager will have a huge responsibility for the whole team to ensure that our innovation is always one step ahead in the technological race for the third wave of AI.
