Zusammenfassung

SUNOTEC is seeking a SCADA Engineer to support utility-scale renewable energy projects across our Nordic operations. You will design, develop, and implement SCADA systems for solar PV and BESS, and lead integration across plant components and control networks.

You will validate communications, test and commission systems, coordinate with grid operators, and contribute to documentation. English fluency and strong collaboration with engineering, commissioning, and operations teams are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience with SCADA systems in renewable energy projects (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of industrial control systems, data acquisition, monitoring platforms, and plant communications
• Experience with SCADA architecture, integration, testing, and commissioning
• Hands-on troubleshooting of communication and control system issues
• Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet networks
• Experience with grid interfaces and utility-scale assets
• Ability to work in fast-paced EPC projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Fluent English (written and spoken)

As part of the continued growth of ourNordic operations, we are looking for a SCADA Engineerto support the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the region.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement SCADA systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS);
• Lead SCADA integration activities across plant components, control systems, and communication networks;
• Configure, validate, and optimise communication architectures between field devices, plant controllers, and central monitoring systems;
• Execute testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA, communication, and control systems during project delivery;
• Support the integration of plant systems with grid operators and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with technical requirements;
• Ensure reliable data acquisition, monitoring, and reporting throughout all project phases, from construction through commercial operation;
• Collaborate closely with engineering, grid compliance, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution;
• Support the preparation of technical documentation, commissioning reports, as-built documentation, and operational procedures;
• Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of system performance issues during commissioning and operational phases;
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to SCADA architecture, cybersecurity, and plant monitoring solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with SCADA systems within renewable energy projects (mandatory);
• Strong technical understanding of industrial control systems, data acquisition, monitoring platforms, and plant communications;
• Practical experience with SCADA system architecture, integration, testing, and commissioning;
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting communication and control system issues;
• Solid knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet-based communication systems, and related networking concepts;
• Experience working with grid interfaces, plant control systems, and utility-scale renewable energy assets;
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced EPC project environment;
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Considered an Advantage:

• Experience with SCADA systems for Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects;
• Knowledge of Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and hybrid plant control concepts;
• Experience working on utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects;
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and frameworks, including IEC-based standards;
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for industrial control systems.
