Zusammenfassung

NAXCON GmbH in Freiburg seeks a Safety Manager to lead system safety across hardware, software and mechanical disciplines in defence projects. You will derive safety requirements from customer needs, support verification planning, and ensure compliance with safety standards throughout development.

The role requires an engineering degree, familiarity with SysML/UML and the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams across global partners.

Qualifikationen

  • Completed technical degree in relevant engineering or CS.
  • Experience applying product safety legislation.
  • Fluent English and German (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel worldwide.

Aufgaben

  • Be the contact person for project teams regarding system/product safety and requirements.
  • Perform system analysis to identify hazards and risks and propose countermeasures.
  • Derive safety requirements for hardware, software and mechanics from customer needs and analyses.
  • Prepare approval-related documents and safety documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with processes to achieve safety objectives.
  • Support product verification and validation planning and execution.
  • Evaluate verification and validation results against safety objectives.

Tasks:
  • Contact person for project and product teams regarding system/product safety and the resulting requirements and processes
    System analysis to identify hazards and risks as well as suitable countermeasures
  • Evaluation of safety concepts and architectures as part of the overall system requirements
  • Derivation of safety requirements for the various technical disciplines (hardware, software, and mechanics) from customer requirements and own analyses
  • Preparation of approval-related documents
  • Monitoring and evaluation of compliance with processes necessary to achieve safety objectives
  • Collaboration in the planning of product verification and validation
  • Evaluation of verification and validation results with regard to the achievement of safety objectives
  • Preparation of safety documentation accompanying development
  • Performing impact analyses for product changes/improvements
  • Responsibility for safety-related internal and external interfaces (e.g., customers, suppliers, and other development partners, but also auditors)
  • Further development of in-house methods and processes for implementing the respective safety standards within development projects
  • Collaboration in higher-level committees (e.g., CoC Safety, BAAINBw working groups)
Requirements:
  • Completed technical degree (diploma, master's) (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science)
    Initial experience in applying product safety legislation
  • Knowledge of SysML/UML and modern software development and testing methods
  • Confident use of various analysis tools
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of quality and configuration management
  • Business fluent English and German skills (spoken and written)
  • Ability to derive specific requirements for projects from norms and standards
  • Experience in moderating interdisciplinary teams
  • Quick comprehension, persuasiveness, and assertiveness
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
