Job summary

Orizon is seeking an RF Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for our client Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. You will develop and maintain ground support systems for A400M, Eurofighter, and Tornado, and verify MDLs before aircraft deployment.

You will translate requirements into hardware/software specs for RF Threat Simulator integration, support EW projects, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure high-quality delivery. Fluent German/English is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace or other related Engineering disciplines.
• Work experience in Engineering and Aerospace.
• Knowledge of EW simulation, radar systems, RF threat modelling, or mission data systems is a must.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) is required.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with DOORS and testing/manufacturing procedures is mandatory.
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modern ground support systems for A400M, Eurofighter, and Tornado platforms.
• Enable preparation, testing, evaluation, and verification of MDLs before upload to aircraft.
• Support projects in Electronic Warfare, Defensive Aids, and Electronic Combat.
• Develop EW Mission Data Verification Systems for the mentioned platforms.
• Follow customer requirements for system development.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs for RF Threat Simulator integration within EW systems.
• Support evaluation of system performance in laboratory environments.
• Operate systems and test equipment to verify RF performance against defined requirements.
• Support the Technical Lead during customer interactions, design reviews, and program management reviews.
• Manage external manufacturers to ensure development, testing and delivery of high-quality products.
• Review system design documentation, procedures, user manuals, and other technical publications.
• Generate acceptance documentation including ATPs and ATPs based on designs.

Your prospective job:

You are acting as a RF Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for our client Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain modern ground support systems for the A400M, Eurofighter, and Tornado platforms
• Enable the preparation, testing, evaluation, and verification of Mission Data Libraries (MDLs) before upload to operational aircraft
• Support projects in the areas of Electronic Warfare (EW), Defensive Aids, and Electronic Combat
• Develop state-of-the‑art EW Mission Data Verification Systems for the aforementioned platforms
• Follow customer requirements for system development
• Perform requirements definition, interface definition, and system design activities to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications for RF Threat Simulator integration within the EW Mission Data Verification System
• Support the evaluation of system performance in laboratory environments
• Operate systems and test equipment to verify functional and RF performance against defined requirements
• Support the Technical Lead during customer interactions, design reviews, program management reviews, and critical system development decisions
• Support the management of external manufacturers to ensure the development, testing, and delivery of high‑quality products meeting all specified requirements
• Review system design documentation, procedures, user manuals, training materials, and other technical publications for technical accuracy and completeness
• Generate acceptance documentation, including Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), based on system and subsystem designs

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace or other related Engineering disciplines
• Work experience in the field of Engineering and Aerospace
• Knowledge of EW simulation, radar systems, RF threat modelling, or mission data systems is a must have
• Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) is required
• Ability to interpret technical drawings is needed
• Experience with test and manufacturing procedures is mandatory
• Experience in DOORS is a must have
• Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence) is prefered
• Fluent German and English skills, written and spoken
