Job summary

Chery Europe GmbH in Raunheim near Frankfurt invites applications for a Residual Value Engineer to develop and refine the European RV framework. You will deliver data-driven RV analyses to support pricing, product planning and used-car strategy across European markets.

Key tasks include RV forecasting, market benchmarking, and collaboration with Product, Pricing, Sales and Finance teams to inform lifecycle decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Automotive Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RV forecasting models across models, powertrains, derivatives and markets.
• Analyse RV drivers such as new-car pricing, discounts, product competitiveness, brand performance, market supply/demand, mileage, age and macro factors.
• Benchmark forecast accuracy against actual used-car market performance and continuously improve forecasting.
• Monitor used-car prices, RV trends and competitor performance across key European markets.
• Collect and analyse market intelligence from external RV providers (Autovista, DAT, Schwacke, CAP HPI).
• Develop and maintain competitor RV databases to support product and commercial decisions.
• Provide RV assessments during new-vehicle development and launches.
• Evaluate vehicle positioning, specifications, pricing and lifecycle decisions from an RV perspective.
• Identify product-related RV risks and recommend improvements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with RV data/forecast providers; organize presentations and RV review sessions.
• Ensure providers receive accurate and timely information about products, pricing and launch plans.
• Work with Product, Pricing, Sales, Used Car, Fleet, Finance and Aftersales teams; prepare regular RV analyses and reports.
• Establish RV KPIs and monitoring mechanisms; identify risks and drive corrective actions.

The Residual Value Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the vehicle Residual Value (RV) management framework. The role provides data‑driven RV analysis and recommendations to support vehicle pricing, product planning, financial and leasing products, and used‑car strategy across European markets.

Key Responsibilities

Residual Value Analysis & Forecasting

• Develop and maintain RV forecasting models across vehicle models, powertrains, derivatives and markets.
• Analyse key RV drivers, including new‑car pricing, discounts, product competitiveness, brand performance, market supply and demand, mileage, vehicle age and macroeconomic factors.
• Regularly benchmark forecasted RVs against actual used‑car market performance and continuously improve forecasting accuracy.

Market & Competitor Analysis

• Monitor used‑car prices, RV trends and competitor performance across key European markets.
• Collect and analyse market intelligence and data from external RV providers such as Autovista, DAT, Schwacke and CAP HPI.
• Develop and maintain competitor RV databases to support product and commercial decision‑making.

New Vehicle & Product Programme Support

• Provide RV assessments during new‑vehicle development and launch programmes.
• Evaluate vehicle positioning, specifications, powertrain strategy, pricing and lifecycle decisions from an RV perspective.
• Identify potential product‑related RV risks and recommend improvement measures.

RV Provider & External Stakeholder Management

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with major European RV data and forecasting providers.
• Organise product presentations, vehicle evaluations, test drives and RV review sessions.
• Ensure external RV providers receive accurate and timely information regarding products, specifications, pricing and launch plans.

Cross‑functional Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with Product, Pricing, Sales, Used Car, Fleet, Finance and Aftersales teams.
• Prepare regular RV analysis, management reports and presentations.
• Establish RV KPIs and monitoring mechanisms, identify risks and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above in Automotive Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
