Zuse Institute Berlin invites applications for a full-time research position in the Mathematical Research Data Initiative, within the Visual and Data-Centric Computing group. The role focuses on developing industrial-grade solutions, PoCs and MVPs, with a strong emphasis on reproducible data-driven research and modern data analysis techniques.
The successful candidate holds an MSc in Data Science, has experience in Java/JavaScript, Python or C/C++, and communicates effectively in English.
Within the research group of PD Dr. Tim Conrad, located within the department Visual and Data-Centric Computing, we are offering a position starting November 1, 2026, on a full-time basis (39,4 hours per week), limited until December 31, 2027. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
In the DFG-funded consortium "Mathematical Research Data Initiative" (MaRDI), new and innovative strategies will be developed and established to make mathematical research data accessible and usable for the scientific community according to the so-called FAIR principles. Mathematical research data include databases for special functions or various mathematical objects, such as models and algorithms or even software tools. Together with the mathematical community, methods and tools will be developed in the individual subprojects of the consortium to implement the FAIR principles for mathematical research data.
