Das Zentrum für Mathematische Wirtschaftsforschung (IMW) der Universität Bielefeld sucht eine Postdoktorandin bzw. einen Postdoktoranden (m/w/d) am Center for Mathematical Economics. Die Stelle ist auf 2 Jahre befristet und in Vollzeit zu besetzen.

Gehaltsgruppe TV-L E13, befristet, Vollzeit. Aufgaben umfassen Forschungsarbeiten zu stochastischer Kontrolle und stochostischen Spielen in Wirtschaft und Finanzen; es besteht die Möglichkeit zur teaching-Unterstützung und Mitwirkung an

Competenze

• Abgeschlossenes relevantes naturwissenschaftliches Universitätsstudium (Master oder äquivalent) in Mathematik oder Mathematik der Finanzmathematik.
• Abgeschlossenes Doktorat (oder kurz vor Abschluss) in Mathematik oder Mathematischer Finanzmathematik.
• Fähigkeit eigenständig zu arbeiten, selbstständig und engagiert.
• Gute Organisations- und Koordinationsfähigkeiten.
• Bereitschaft und Interesse an Teamarbeit und Zusammenarbeit.
• Bereitschaft und Interesse an internationalen Konferenzen und Workshops.

The Center for Mathematical Economics (German: Institut für Mathematische Wirtschaftsforschung, IMW) isa hub for innovative, interdisciplinary research in the social sciences as far as they admit mathematicalformalization. In particular, the Center is one of the leading European research centers in the field of(mathematical) economic theory; the focus of all our activities is the organization and development of newresearch projects and ideas. We are convinced that mathematical methods are useful in all social sciencesand therefore foster interdisciplinary research approaches in these areas.

Your Tasks

• research tasks on stochastic control and stochastic games in the fields of economics and finance (100 %)

There is the possibility of voluntary support for teaching activities, including assistance with examinations, supervision of seminar papers and theses (up to 5 %). The research tasks are reduced proportionately.

Your Profile

• completed relevant scientificuniversity degree (Master or equivalent)inMathematics or Mathematical Finance
• completed doctorate (or doctorate about to be completed at the time of starting employment) in the field ofMathematics orMathematical Finance
• ability to work independently, self-sufficientlyand enthusiastically
• strong organizational and coordination skills
• willingness and interest in working in teams and cooperate with others
• willingness and interest to attend and co-organize international conferences and workshops
• good English language skills (oral and written)

Preferred experience and skills

• strong background in probability theory and control theory
• expertise in problems and games involving singular control mechanisms as well as non-Nash equilibrium concepts (e.g., correlated and roughly correlated equilibria) for stochastic N-player and midfield games
• expertise in N-player stochastic games and mean-field games
