Saarland University invites applications for the position of Research Group Leader in Quantum Mathematics at the Center for Quantum Technologies (QuTe). You will develop an independent research programme and build a group with support from QuTe and collaboration with Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The successful candidate will publish in international journals, secure funding, and contribute to teaching. A 3-year, 100% FTE position with E14 TV-L applies.

We are offering a group leader position for three years at the newly established Center for Quantum Technologies (QuTe) at Saarland University. As part of its ongoing development, QuTe is establishing several new research groups in Applied Quantum Sciences, Quantum Mathematics, Quantum Informatics, and Numerics for Quantum and AI.
The Center for Quantum Technologies (QuTe) has recently been established at Saarland University to pursue research across the full spectrum of quantum technologies — from the theoretical and computational foundations (quantum information theory, theoretical physics, computer science, mathematics, quantum computing) to experimental work on physical platforms (quantum physics, quantum optics, quantum engineering). It includes a satellite facility of the Helmholtz Center „Forschungszentrum Jülich“ further strengthening its research capabilities.

The pay grade assigned to an employee depends on their professional qualifications and the number of years of service. Each pay grade is further subdivided into levels. Entry-level employees with no previous experience will initially be assigned a level 1 rating. After one year at level 1 of the E10 pay grade, an employee will move up to level 2. After a further two years, an employee will move to level 3, etc.
