Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Computer Science, invites applications for a Research Associate (m/f/d) in Computer Engineering, limited to 4 years, TV-L HU E13. The position is full-time starting 1 Jan 2027.

You will conduct research on reconfigurable processor architectures, develop novel hardware and software, publish results, and teach four hours per week (LVS). The app deadline is 11 Nov 2026.

Qualifications

Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of Computer Engineering limited to 4 years - E 13 TV-L HU

Your responsibilities

• research work in the field of Computer Engineering on the topic of reconfigurable processor architectures
• development, implementation and evaluation of novel hardware, including AI-assisted hardware, as well as the software for its programming and operation
• publication and presentation of research results at scientific conferences and in academic journals
• teaching duties amounting to 4 teaching hours per week (LVS)
• assisting with organisational tasks of the chair and with research grant applications
• tasks for personal scientific qualification (doctorate/PhD)
• completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in engineering or a comparable field with a technical focus, or a computer science background
• excellent command of German, both written and spoken (at least C1-level)
