Zusammenfassung

Universität Hamburg sucht eine*n Research Associate für das Projekt ModuS-Connect. Sie arbeiten an AI-Anwendungen, NLP und Informationssystemen und entwickeln evidenzbasierte Ansätze für KMU in einem interdisziplinären Team.

Die Stelle bietet Gelegenheit zur Weiterqualifikation, Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern und eine sichere Finanzierung durch Drittmittel, verbunden mit guten Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten in einer führenden Forschungsuniversität.

Qualifikationen

  • Universitätsabschluss in Informatik oder Information Systems.
  • Gute Kenntnisse in NLP, KI-Anwendungen in der Datenverarbeitung.
  • Kenntnisse in relationalen und graphbasierten Datenbanken (Neo4j, MySQL, MongoDB).

Aufgaben

  • Durchführung akademischer Arbeiten im genannten Projekt.
  • Weitere akademische Qualifikationen außerhalb der regulären Aufgaben möglich.
  • Arbeit an der Entwicklung, Anwendung und Diffusion von KI-Anwendungen in KMU.
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern und Multiplikatoren wie Kammern und KI-Service Centern.
  • Aufbereitung von Ergebnissen für bestehende SME-Unterstützungsstrukturen.

Start date01.11.2026, pending approval of external funding, fixed til 30.09.2030 (This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG]).

Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time

The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) is a competence unit for research and forms the core element for the central support of digitalization and digital transformation in research at the University of Hamburg.

Your responsibilities

Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue further academic qualifications outside of their work responsibilities.

In the project “ModuS-Connect - Sektorübergreifende Synthese, Monitoring und Transferbegleitung für eine souveräne KI-Anwendung im Mittelstand“ you will work on building a cross-sectoral systemic understanding of the development, application, and diffusion of AI applications in skilled crafts, commerce, and industry. The core is the synthesis of results from the funded collaborative projects and their presentation in virtual showcases, based on scientific analyses of trends, technological gaps, innovation ecosystems, and skills needs. In close cooperation with project partners and multipliers such as chambers, associations, and AI service centers, you will feed the results into existing SME support structures at an early stage. Based on the latest research results in NLP, applied AI and information systems, you will ensure systematic utilization of the potentials in real-world settings and support the evidence-based further development of innovation policy measures.

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant field.

relevant fields are esp. computer science and information systems

  • experience in natural language processing, utilization of AI in data processing and analysis
  • knowledge of relational and graph databases such as neo4j, mysql, or mongodb
  • experience in
    • design and evaluation of complex software systems
    • frontend development for data-centric tools
    • building dashboards including network, graph visualizations, and research communication
  • very good command of written and spoken English and German
  • strong social and communication skills, initiative, motivation, high sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team and very good organizational skills
