The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is seeking to fill the following position in the Department Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironmental Dynamics of Prof. Dr. Andreas Mulch at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre, starting ideally in spring 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironmental Dynamics working group (Prof. A. Mulch) seeks a geoscientist with research interests in integrating relevant multi-scale characteristics of geological systems with the aim of investigating terrestrial paleoclimate or tectonics-climate interaction processes through the application of novel data-driven approaches. Candidates should have a career-equivalent, excellent expertise with topics covering either Earth's long-term climate and paleoenvironments, mountain building, sedimentary systems, digital and data-driven analysis methods, isotope geochemistry or similarly related emerging fields.
The successful applicant is expected to be closely involved in collaborative research efforts in the broad field of Earth surface processes and paleoclimate dynamics. The Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironmental Dynamics working group maintains close ties to Goethe University Frankfurt, in particular the Joint Goethe University – Senckenberg BiK‑F stable isotope facility.
