WHU is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for its Center for Sports and Management in Düsseldorf, commencing summer 2025. The role involves conducting significant research on the future of sports and entertainment, developing academic studies, and participating in collaborative projects. Center for Sports and Management
As an academic partner for executives in the sports business, the Center for Sports and Management (CSM) aims to actively shape the future of sports and entertainment by inspiring, supporting, and connecting people.Our research focuses on the "Future of Sports and Entertainment," exploring emerging trends, corporate diversification strategies and the impact of technology, as well as on "Stadium Economics". Through practical, application-driven research, we aim to make a significant contribution to the advancement of the sports and entertainment industries.

Starting in the summer of 2025, we are offering a 50% position for a Research Assistant at our Düsseldorf location.


Your mission

Doctorate Thesis

  • Conducting a practice-oriented project with academic publications in the field of "Future of Sports and Entertainment."
  • Development of relevant academic studies (e.g., Delphi studies), case studies, and practice-oriented reports on the research focus "Future of Sports and Entertainment."
Projects and Partnerships
  • Collaboration with leading industry partners and alumni from the sports business.
  • Contributing to practice-based projects in close cooperation with CSM partners, focusing on their implementation and scientific support.
Center for Sports and Management
  • Development of innovative teaching materials and concepts.
  • Involvement in the design and delivery of courses.
  • Contributing to the strategic and content-related development of the Center.

Your profile
  • Excellent master's degree in economics or a related management discipline
  • Passion for sports, science, and entertainment, as well as a strong interest in interdisciplinary questions
  • Excellent command of the English and German language
  • First practical experience with quantitative analyses and relevant research methods (e.g., STATA, R)
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and teamwork skills
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, strong analytical skills, and a results- and solutions-oriented approach to work
