GovCIO is seeking a React Software Engineer to rebuild customer-facing applications from the ground up. The role focuses on evolving a legacy Spring Boot/Thymeleaf stack into a modern, scalable front-end platform with secure DevSecOps practices.

You will define architecture, standards, and development practices, collaborating with architects, backend, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver fast, secure web experiences.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years building production applications with React.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of modern front-end architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query/TanStack Query.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with automated testing using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-native deployments and containerized applications.
• Strong understanding of secure software development practices and DevSecOps principles.
• Experience working in Agile product teams.

Overview

GovCIO is looking a React Software Engineer to rebuild our customer-facing applications from the ground up. Today, our applications are primarily built with a legacy Spring Boot Thymeleaf architecture. Our goal is to evolve to a modern, scalable front-end platform that separates the user experience from backend services and embraces modern DevSecOps practices.

We're looking for an experienced React engineer who can help lead this transformation. This is not a maintenance role---it is an opportunity to define the architecture, engineering standards, and development practices that will power our next generation of applications.

You’ll work closely with architects, backend engineers, DevOps, security, and product teams to build fast, secure, maintainable web applications while establishing best practices across the organization. This position will be located within the United States and will be a fully remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of modern customer-facing web applications using React and TypeScript.

• Establish a scalable front-end architecture adopted across multiple products.

• Build secure, automated delivery pipelines aligned with DevSecOps best practices.

• Improve application performance, developer productivity, and deployment frequency.

• Help create a modern engineering culture centered on automation, quality, security, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 7 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, and modern authentication patterns.

• Experience with observability tools, application monitoring, and front-end performance optimization.

Posted Salary Range
