Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks a full-time Ramp Services Specialist in Stuttgart, Germany. The incumbent will ensure safe, correct operation of the Air Terminal, manage cargo loading/unloading and assist with onward movement of cargo and mail per regulatory and program guidelines.

The role requires CAC/SOFA eligibility, English fluency, valid local documents, and the ability to work swings while maintaining stringent safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
• Must speak, read and write English fluently.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license from home country for 12 months from on-site employment date.
• Must maintain a valid passport from home country with 12 months validity and minimum 6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization.
• Must be CAC eligible and able to gain/maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain SOFA Status.
• Pre-employment screenings including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo and baggage on/off aircraft, surface conveyances, and pallet dollies per AMCI 24-101 guidelines.
• Validate, select, stage and upload aircraft loads using the load plan.
• Ensure water coolers, ice chests and freezers are stocked for each shift.
• Remove all trash from aircraft not AMC contracted.
• Assist Cargo Movement to facilitate onward movement of cargo/mail.
• Build-up/break-down baggage pallets and pallets, loose cargo, and mixed pallets.
• Offload/upload baggage from AMC rotator missions.
• Operate GATES/GDSS during Ramp Dispatch.
• Weigh and record cargo weights.
• Escort trucks and buses.
• Perform safe operation of ramp equipment and daily vehicle inspections.

This Opportunity

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Ramp Services Specialist at our location in Stuttgart, Germany. The ideal candidate will perform all tasks associated with the safe and correct operation of the Air Terminal as directed by management, regulations, policies, instructions and the Performance Work Statement.

Your Impact

• Load and unload of cargo and baggage on and off government owned or contracted aircraft, surface conveyances, and commercial pallet dollies IAW AMCI 24-101, Volume 11 and other applicable instructions.
• Validate, select, stage and upload aircraft loads utilizing the load plan.
• Ensure water coolers, ice chests and freezer are stocked with water and ice for each shift.
• Remove all trash from aircraft other than AMC Contracted Aircraft.
• Assist Cargo Movement Section to facilitate onward movement of cargo / mail.
• Build-up / break-down baggage pallets, multi-pallet trains, loose cargo, and mixed pallets.
• Offload / upload baggage from AMC rotator missions and transport vehicles.
• Operate Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES)/GDSS when performing Ramp Dispatch duties.
• Weigh and record accurate cargo and baggage weights.
• Escort trucks and buses.
• Ensure all company-controlled areas are clean and neat in appearance.
• Properly park all vehicles per the published vehicle parking plan.
• Perform the safe and correct operation of a K-loaders, forklifts, buses, tugs, vans or other required vehicles and the daily inspection, documentation and turn-in (to maintenance) vehicles in need of repair or service.
• Assist with wing-walker duties as needed.
• Understand and abide by the standards set forth for ethical behavior and integrity as detailed in the Code of Business Conduct.

Required Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date
• Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date. Passport must have a minimum of 6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization.
• Must be CAC eligible and able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.

Additional Required Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly
• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
• Fluent English reading and writing skills to be able to read and understand AMCI guidance for day-to-day work requirements.
• Must have computer skills to be able to operate and understand the web based Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) and/or any replacement government system.
• Must be able to obtain a DOD security clearance (level of clearance may vary depending on specific site requirements).
• Must be a SOFA Status ID holder.
• Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Comply with Company Drug and Alcohol policy.
• Must provide documents for SOFA coverage.
• Must obtain and have access toa US bank account for direct deposition of bi-weekly pay.
