Zusammenfassung

TOYOTA RACING in Cologne, Germany, seeks a Race Room Performance Leader to oversee Race Room operations during race and test events. You will coordinate trackside and remote engineering support, prioritise urgent topics and ensure concise technical communication for the team.

The role requires a degree in automotive/mechanical/electrical or motorsport engineering and several years in high-level motorsport. You will lead a multinational engineering effort and drive continuous process improvement.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in automotive, mechanical, electrical or motorsport engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in high-level motorsport engineering, ideally including endurance racing.
  • Strong experience in trackside and/or remote race engineering support and a comprehensive understanding of race and test operations.

  • lead and coordinate Race Room operations during race and test events
  • act as the key interface between trackside Race Engineering and the engineering specialists supporting the event remotely

  • maintain an overview of ongoing technical topics and ensure that critical issues are identified, communicated and escalated appropriately
  • consolidate engineering findings and ensure concise, relevant and actionable communication to the Trackside team
  • coordinate the analysis and resolution of complex performance, vehicle systems and reliability issues
  • establish and continuously improve responsibilities, communication channels, workflows and operating procedures between Trackside and the Race Room
  • plan Race Room staffing and specialist availability for race and test events, including shift structures for endurance events
  • coordinate pre-event preparation and ensure the operational readiness of the Race Room
  • lead post-event reviews and ensure that lessons learned and improvement actions are implemented
  • work with the relevant engineering, software, data and IT functions to continuously develop Race Room tools and capabilities
  • support the development of engineers working within the Race Room and promote effective cross-functional collaboration

We are looking for a Race Room Performance Leader (m/f/d) to be part of our works motorsport team in Cologne, Germany. In this role you will be responsible for the operational leadership, coordination and continuous development of our Race Room. During race and test events, you will lead the remote engineering support activities and act as the key interface between our trackside Race Engineering team and the engineering specialists supporting the event from Cologne.

You will ensure that the right engineering resources are focused on the right topics at the right time, providing trackside with timely, concise and actionable technical information. Outside of race events, you will drive the preparation and continuous improvement of Race Room processes, tools, infrastructure and working methods.

The successful candidate will:
  • have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in automotive, mechanical, electrical or motorsport engineering, or a comparable technical qualification
  • have several years of professional experience in high-level motorsport engineering, ideally including endurance racing
  • have strong experience in trackside and/or remote race engineering support and a comprehensive understanding of race and test operations
  • have a broad technical understanding of race vehicle performance, vehicle dynamics, data analysis, vehicle systems and reliability
  • demonstrate the ability to coordinate complex technical topics across multiple engineering disciplines
  • have proven leadership skills and the ability to set clear priorities in highly dynamic and time-critical situations
  • combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on engineering mindset
  • have excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear and actionable information
  • remain calm, structured and decisive under pressure while maintaining an overview of multiple parallel activities
  • be a strong team player and comfortable working within a cross-functional and international engineering organisation
  • be willing to work outside regular office hours and during weekends according to the international race and test calendar
  • write and speak English to a professional level
