Jobbeschreibung
Quantum Hardware Physicist

Parity Quantum Computing GmbH

(Hamburg or Innsbruck, Full time, m / w / x)

What we do

At ParityQC, we are shaping the future of quantum computing as the world’s only Quantum Architecture Company. We have developed a groundbreaking new approach to solving industry-relevant problems using quantum computers. By designing blueprints for quantum processors and creating the fully cloud-based operating system ParityOS, we are pioneering the next generation of quantum computing technology.

About the job

We are seeking a Quantum Hardware Physicist to join our team of quantum scientists in shaping the next generation of quantum computers. Collaborating closely with leading hardware manufacturers around the globe, you will tailor quantum algorithms to specific hardware platforms. Your primary focus will be the theoretical modeling and simulation of superconducting circuits, trapped ions, neutral atoms, spin qubits, and NV centers. You will work on one or multiple hardware platforms, developing groundbreaking multi-qubit gate implementations, including noise effects, and co‑designing algorithms and error correction protocols specifically adapted to these platforms within the ParityQC Architecture.

Your Tasks
  • Theoretically model the physics of hardware platforms such as superconducting circuits, trapped ions, neutral atoms (e.g., Rydberg atoms), spin qubits, or NV centers, including noise effects.
  • Leverage the specific strengths of these platforms to co‑design high‑performing algorithms and error correction protocols and propose improved qubit gate realizations.
  • Collaborate on the co‑development of hardware and software to tackle optimization problems within the ParityQC Architecture.
  • Develop innovative, hardware‑specific techniques and strategies for quantum information processing.
Skills & Experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • PhD in Physics or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in at least one quantum computing hardware platform: superconducting circuits, trapped ions, neutral atoms, semiconductor spin qubits, or NV centers.
  • Strong knowledge of quantum computation and quantum information theory.
  • Programming skills, particularly in Python.
  • High degree of creativity, initiative, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively.
  • Proven experience in conducting research.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Experience:

  • German language skills are a plus, but not required.
What we offer

Join a pioneering spin‑off operating at the forefront of one of the most exciting emerging technology fields. With no long‑standing templates or established conventions, we are inventing quantum computing from the ground up, shaping the next generation of quantum hardware and software. This role offers you the opportunity to:

  • Conduct cutting‑edge research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Work with the first fully cloud‑based operating system for quantum computers, ParityOS.
  • Be part of a team that develops blueprints for the quantum processors of the future.
Why ParityQC?
  • Work‑life balance: Enjoy excellent work‑life balance with flexible hours and home office options.
  • International environment: Collaborate with an innovative and diverse team from around the world.
  • Growth opportunities: Benefit from continuous training and encouragement of personal and professional development.
  • Team culture: Join a motivated team with a friendly atmosphere, flat hierarchies, and an open, collaborative work environment.

Ready to shape the future of quantum computing? Join us at ParityQC and take your career to the next level.
