John Sisk & Son is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and construction teams in delivering projects with a focus on maintaining relationships, maximizing commercial returns, and managing risk. The role encompasses tender preparation, subcontractor selection, and cost control across projects.

The candidate should hold degree-level education and pursue relevant professional accreditation, with knowledge of JCT contracts and strong negotiation, CVR, and writing skills.

Aufgaben

• Preparing tenders, analysing and selecting subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders.
• Managing financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors to final account completion.
• Maintaining site records and document control.
• Recording site measurements.
• Assisting with forecasts, targets and contract value reconciliations.
• Preparing valuations and variations with sufficient records and details, agreeing changes as works progress.
• Updating projected final account and submitting in a timely manner.
• Liaise with site management to influence and challenge commercial matters
• Implement commercial strategy.
• Maintain and protect John Sisk & Son commercial and contractual entitlements
• Participate in contract value reviews maintaining an independent view
• Identify and assess risks and opportunities
• Develop understanding of insurances and warranties
• Engage in cash management activities to ensure good cash flow
• Support tender processes as required
• Supervise and oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking their work
• Maintain site records and control documents
• Apply clear written and verbal communication skills
• Effectively utilise technology platforms
• Be fully conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and ownership
• Apply time management organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
