Job summary

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing in Germany is seeking a Quality Manager (m/w/d) to lead quality and lean activities, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and drive continuous improvement across product development and manufacturing.

You will build a dedicated QA team, conduct internal and external audits, analyze quality data and implement corrective actions, and collaborate with multiple departments to embed quality into processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, quality management or a comparable qualification.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in quality management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Experience with internal and external audits and automotive core tools such as FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management.

• Development, implementation and monitoring of quality-related processes and standards to ensure that all products and services meet the highest quality requirements
• Responsibility for the quality management system, including compliance with international standards (ISO 9001) and automotive standards (e.g. IATF 16949)
• Building and maintaining a dedicated quality management team to support the implementation of quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify weaknesses
• Working with various departments to ensure quality objectives are integrated throughout the product development and manufacturing process
• Analyzing quality data and performing root cause analysis on quality issues as they arise to develop and implement corrective actions
• Monitoring and evaluating supplier quality and conducting supplier audits
• Ensuring compliance with quality guidelines and regulations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

Required Skills and Education

• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to analyze complex quality problems and find appropriate solutions
• Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Business fluent in German and English
