The role requires managing procurement strategies, supplier relationships, and compliance while optimizing the supply chain. Ideal candidates have over 4 years of experience and are fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English. This position offers a hybrid work model and various employee benefits including discounts and time off.
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Purchasing Area Manager China (all genders) to lead and elevate our procurement strategy across the China supply chain. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and reliable material flow, strengthening supplier relationships, and driving cost and quality excellence that fuels our global growth. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and delivering real business results.
Strategic Procurement: Manage and continuously optimize the end-to-end procurement process for materials sourced in China, ensuring a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain aligned with global objectives.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage key suppliers; foster long-term partnerships while ensuring performance, quality, and cost targets are met.
Commercial Leadership: Lead all commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract management activities to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
Operational Execution: Oversee the complete purchasing cycle — from order placement and call-offs to material expediting — to guarantee on‑time delivery to operational sites.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure all vendors and purchasing processes fully adhere to local regulations, ethical standards, and internal company policies.
Inventory & Planning Collaboration: Work closely with the planning team to monitor inventory levels, manage reorder points, and reduce stock on hand (SoH) while maintaining supply continuity and preventing stock‑outs.
Education: You hold a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as CIPS or APICS) are a plus.
Experience: You bring 4+ years of hands‑on procurement or supply chain experience, within the Chinese market, ideally in the FMCG industry. You understand how business works locally — and if you’ve lived and worked in China before, even better!
Skills: You’re a strategic and hands‑on procurement professional with strong negotiation and analytical skills and a solid understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain principles. You build trust easily across cultures, communicate clearly, and thrive both independently and in a collaborative, fast‑moving team environment.
Language Skills: You communicate effortlessly in Mandarin Chinese (native‑level, both spoken and written) and have professional fluency in English, enabling you to navigate seamlessly between local suppliers and international teams.
