Job description

As Project Manager Prototype (m/f/d), you ensure the availability and optimal allocation of field validation capacity for the installation, testing and homologation of prototype wind turbine components. You combine technical understanding with project and capacity management to optimize validation opportunities and support future product development and certification roadmaps.

YOUR TASKS

  • Manage and continuously develop a portfolio of field validation opportunities, maximizing the utilization of available turbines and validation projects
  • Gather and consolidate validation requirements from Engineering and Product Development and translate them into suitable project and turbine allocations
  • Coordinate prototype validation activities across Engineering, Product Development, Project Execution, Service and regional teams, ensuring alignment with project priorities and homologation requirements
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of current and future validation capacity, including turbine availability, project schedules, testing constraints and ongoing validation campaigns
  • Assess the technical interaction between parallel validation activities and determine whether additional tests can be performed without negatively affecting turbine behavior or existing test results
  • Monitor ongoing prototype validation activities and ensure alignment with agreed testing objectives, timelines and business priorities
  • Develop capacity forecasts and scenario analyses to assess future validation demand and ensure adequate support for upcoming prototype installations, validation campaigns and homologation programs
  • Identify short-, medium- and long-term capacity gaps and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Develop solutions to capacity limitations, including additional validation platforms, optimized project allocation strategies and prioritization frameworks for competing validation requirements
  • Provide data-driven recommendations regarding validation project selection, resource allocation and future capacity investments
  • Contribute to the long-term identification and development of additional prototype and field validation sites
  • Drive transparency and continuous improvement across prototype and validation planning processes
