Zusammenfassung

Das Universitätsmedizin Göttingen (UMG) sucht eine*n Projektmanager*in zur Koordination des Entwicklungsprogramms für eine neuartige optogenetische Gentherapie und deren klinische Übersetzung. Sie arbeiten an der Schnittstelle von Wissenschaft, Technik und Regulierung in einem interdisziplinären Umfeld.

Zu den Aufgaben gehört die Planung, Koordination und Überwachung cross-funktionaler Entwicklungsaktivitäten sowie das Management externer Partner und CROs.

Qualifikationen

• MSc, PhD oder gleichwertiger Abschluss in Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharma oder verwandtem Bereich.
• Mehrere Jahre Erfahrung in Biotech, Pharma, Biopharma-Entwicklung oder translationaler Forschung.
• Nachweis von Projekt- oder Programmmanagement in multidisziplinärer Entwicklungsumgebung.
• Gutes Verständnis der biopharmazeutischen Entwicklung; Erfahrung mit Gentherapie, viralen Vektoren oder ATMPs wünschenswert.
• Ausgeprägte Organisations-, Kommunikations- und Stakeholder-Fähigkeiten.
• Fähigkeit, komplexe wissenschaftliche Themen in umsetzbare Pläne zu übersetzen.
• Proaktiver, strukturierter Hands-on-Arbeitsstil mit Ownership.
• Ausgezeichnete Englischkenntnisse

Aufgaben

• Planung und Koordination funktionsübergreifender Entwicklungsaktivitäten und Aufrechterhaltung des Gesamtprojektplans, Zeitpläne und Meilensteine.
• Koordinierung der AAV-Herstellung und CMC-Aktivitäten, inklusive Prozessentwicklung, Plasmidproduktion, GMP-Herstellung und analytische Tests.
• Planung und Durchführung präklinischer Studien, einschließlich Wirksamkeit, Sicherheit, Biodistribution und Toxikologie‑Programme mit externen CROs.
• Management externer Partner und Unterstützung bei Lieferantenauswahl, Kick-offs und laufendem Leistungs-Tracking.
• Unterstützung der Vorbereitung auf regulatorische Interaktionen und Einreichungen, einschließlich Scientific Advice Meetings

The interdisciplinary Institute for Auditory Neuroscience and the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Optogenetic Therapies of the University Medical Center Göttingen aims to harness the great potential of optogenetics - the control of cells with light via light-sensitive proteins - for clinical use. Optogenetic therapies combine gene therapy with optical medical devices, enabling broader applicability than traditional gene therapy and greater efficacy than current medical devices. The institute is developing an optical cochlear implant system aimed at restoring hearing in patients with severe-to-profound hearing loss.

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our interdisciplinary team and coordinate the development programme as we progress towards clinical translation.

Your tasks

- Planning and coordinating cross-functional development activities and maintaining the overall project plan, timelines and milestones

• Coordinating AAV manufacturing and CMC activities, including process development, plasmid production, GMP manufacturing and analytical testing
• Coordinating planning and execution of preclinical studies, including efficacy, safety, biodistribution and toxicology programmes with external CROs
• Managing external partners and supporting vendor selection, contracting, project kick-offs and ongoing performance tracking
• Supporting preparation for regulatory interactions and submissions, including Scientific Advice meetings

Your qualifications

• MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences or a related field
• Several years of experience in biotech, pharma, biopharmaceutical development or translational research
• Proven experience in project or programme management, ideally in a multidisciplinary development environment
• Good understanding of biopharmaceutical development; experience with gene therapy, viral vectors or ATMPs is highly desirable
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to understand complex scientific and technical topics and translate them into actionable plans
• Proactive, structured and hands-on working style, with a high level of ownership
• Excellent English communication skills
