The Max-Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy (MBI) invites applications for a doctoral network coordination role in the EU-funded LUMIERE project and other EU initiatives. The position involves coordinating communications with the EC, partners, and doctoral students, plus organising meetings, events, and dissemination activities in English.
We offer a challenging role with part-time to full-time options (75-100%), initial 2-year limited contract, and a framework for
The Max-Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy (MBI) conducts basic research in the field of nonlinear optics and ultrafast dynamics arising from the interaction of light with matter and pursues applications that emerge from this research. It develops and uses ultrafast and ultra-intense lasers and laser-driven short-pulse light sources in a broad spectral range in combination with methods of nonlinear spectroscopy. The spectral range includes in particular XUV radiation and soft x-rays, where experiments at in-house sources are complemented with the use of accelerator driven sources such as free electron x-ray lasers.
With its research, MBI fulfils a national mission and is an integral part of the international scientific community.
The Max-Born-Institute invites applications for a
to start as soon as possible. for the EU-funded doctoral network LUMIERE and further EU-funded projects. The EU doctoral network LUMIERE is dedicated to development of novel biomimetic photoswitches and investigation of their ultrafast dynamics by state-of-the-art experimental methods, such as time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy and transient absorption spectroscopy. The network comprises nine research partners in several EU member and associated countries: Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Czech Republic, UK. The network employs 10 doctoral candidates and involves several associated partners including four commercial companies.
We offer a challenging and versatile position with opportunities for professional development. Payment according to the pay scale TVöD Bund up to tariff group 13, provided that the relevant requirements, qualifications, and experience levels are met.
