At Aurubis, you will play a key role in delivering some of our most strategic investment projects and shaping the future of sustainable metals production. As a Project Management Officer (m/f/d), you will drive professional project controls, provide transparency for critical decisions, and contribute directly to the successful execution of large-scale international CapEx projects. Working closely with project leaders, contractors, and senior stakeholders, you will help ensure that complex projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Project Management Officer for Large CapEx Projects (m/f/d)
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- Project management certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, IPMA C, or an equivalent qualification.
- Extensive experience in industrial investment projects, with responsibility for project controls, PMO leadership, or project management in complex environments.
- Strong expertise in integrated planning and scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and governance reporting.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, combined with a proactive mindset and the confidence to work with senior international stakeholders.
- Fluent English and good German skills, as well as practical experience with Microsoft 365, scheduling tools, SAP, Power BI, and AI
- Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 25% of the time to support project execution at Aurubis sites when required.
Your Tasks
- Take ownership of integrated PMO and project controls processes and products for strategic large-scale CapEx projects, covering document and information management, earned-value management, governance reporting, and performance monitoring across scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
- Lead project governance and reporting activities, providing reliable insights, forecasts, and decision-ready information to project leadership and key stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated master schedules, including contractor and supplier schedules, while performing critical path analysis and coordinating recovery plans when required.
- Drive effective cost control, forecasting, risk management, change management, and progress measurement to support successful project delivery and informed decision-making.
- Act as a trusted partner to Project Leads and management teams by challenging assumptions, identifying deviations early, and driving corrective actions throughout all project phases.
- Promote continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, implementing best-practice PMO standards, supporting supplier management processes, and advancing modern project management methodologies.
