Jobtailor is seeking a senior electrical engineer to oversee the technical HVDC control and protection solution, ensuring customer requirements align with reference designs.

You will lead requirements gathering, system design, and EMT studies using PSCAD and MATLAB/Simulink, and you will mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with grid codes and industry standards.

Qualifikationen

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• Extensive experience in HVDC-LCC or VSC-based system design.
• Strong expertise in VSC control theory and protection.
• Experience with PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, Dig SILENT or similar tools.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEEE standards, and grid codes for VSC/HVDC.
• Proven track record leading complex engineering projects and teams.

• Conduct Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies using PSCAD, EMTP-RV, and model control/protection functions in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field or equivalent knowledge
• Significant experience in power electronics, HVDC‑LCC or VSC‑based system design.
• Strong expertise in VSC control theory, modulation strategies, and power system protection.
• Experience with PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, Dig SILENT, or similar simulation tools.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEEE standards, and grid codes for VSC and HVDC applications.
• Proven track record in leading complex engineering projects and teams.
