Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking an experienced embedded automotive systems expert to drive the next generation of MCU architectures and software ecosystems. You will shape how vehicle E/E architectures evolve, influencing hardware and software decisions across central compute and zonal integration.

You will engage with OEMs and Tier‑1s, analyze tradeoffs, and lead innovative concepts. Travel worldwide and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar required.
• Strong understanding of automotive applications and E/E architecture.
• Experience with AutoSAR related hardware/software considerations.
• Willingness to travel worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Understand vehicle E/E architecture evolution and impact on MCU.
• Understand MCU SW ecosystem and architecture and its impact on MCU design.
• Analyze Software/Hardware tradeoffs.
• Drive thought leadership of innovative concepts disrupting the market.
• Build and maintain technical relationships with OEMs and Tier 1s.
• Follow market trends to predict changes in product requirements.
• Collaborate with Marketing and product teams to align technical needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar required, Masters preferredVast knowledge in relevant experienceStrong understanding of automotive applications. We are looking for several candidates covering those segment:Electrification, e.g. Inverter, DC/DC, Onboard Charger, …Vehicle E/E architecture, e.g. central gateways, zonal ECUs, ECU up integrationHigh level of experience in microcontroller/microprocessor architectures as well as network interfaces (Ethernet, CAN…)Good understanding of software needs for AutoSAR related applications driving the HW architectureStrong customer engagement & experience. Direct experience with Automotive Tier1 or OEMs preferred.Ability to work at the system-level, identifying optimal partitioning of solutions between hardware and software.Comfortable working with the ambiguity inherent in implementing new technologiesGood written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English spanning technical contributors, business stakeholders, customers, and management.
