Principal CCUS (carbon capture) Technology Expert (f/m/d)
A Snapshot of Your Day
You spend your day at the intersection of technology, strategy, and leadership. Part of your time is dedicated to deep technical analysis of emerging CCUS solutions, reviewing data, and assessing feasibility. You collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to align technology options with portfolio needs. Meetings with internal leaders alternate with discussions with external partners, startups, and research institutions. You also prepare concise technical and strategic recommendations, ensuring that innovation efforts translate into tangible business value for the Gas Services organization.
Responsibilities
- Continuous screening and evaluation of emerging Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage technologies
- In‑depth technical due diligence, feasibility, and maturity assessment of novel CCUS solutions
- Assessment of integration potential of CCUS technologies with the existing gas turbine portfolio
- Development and ownership of the strategic CCUS technology roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Creation of robust business cases, including performance, cost‑benefit, and economic impact analyses
- Leadership of pilot projects, proof‑of‑concepts, and cross‑functional initiatives, including stakeholder communication and external partnerships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Energy Engineering, or a comparable field
- Longstanding professional experience in CCUS or related energy technology evaluation and development
- Deep technical expertise in carbon capture technologies, process engineering, and gas turbine systems
- Strong strategic, analytical, and economic modeling capabilities to support investment and portfolio decisions
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide cross‑functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, including technical reporting, presentation of complex topics, and external networking
