Postdoctoral Scientist – assay development, Institute of Translational Medicine and Pharmacology

Position type: Limited Contract, Full Time, 2-year appointment. Appointment, remuneration, and benefits based on TV‑G‑U.

The role is based in Frankfurt am Main at Goethe University Institute of Clinical Pharmacology. It is part of the Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS, specifically the ProxiDETECT project, focused on advanced assay technologies for molecular glues and E3 ligase binders.

Responsibilities
  • Protein production: cloning, expression in various systems, purification, quality control
  • Development and application of biophysical/binding assays: thermal shift, surface plasmon resonance, biolayer interferometry, spectral shift, ligand displacement
  • Assay miniaturization and automation
  • Screening of medium-sized small‑molecule compound libraries
  • Analysis of results in collaboration with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and chemoinformaticians
Qualifications
  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, or an equivalent field
  • Experience in assay development and cell biology
  • Independent problem solving, systematic, data‑driven experimental design and execution
  • Proficiency in English required; German language skills are a plus
