Zusammenfassung

The Chair for Distributed Signal Processing at RWTH Aachen University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher to advance our work on a flexible wireless PHY on FPGA boards under the direction of Prof. Haris Gačanin.

You will design and implement flexible PHY algorithms, run experiments, and publish results at leading conferences and journals, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to translate findings into practical wireless-system improvements.

Qualifikationen

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science and Engineering with strong electronics and hardware background.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Matlab, HDL (Verilog/VHDL) and PCB design are required.
  • Familiarity with FPGA development tools and hardware description languages; knowledge of SDN/SmartNICs/RDMA is a plus.
  • Experience with wireless standards (Wi-Fi, 5G/6G) and strong scientific writing abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing research in developing a flexible wireless physical layer (PHY) on FPGA boards, under the direction of Prof. Haris Gačanin.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct cutting-edge research on the development of flexible wireless PHY on FPGA boards.
  • Designing and implementing flexible wireless PHY algorithms and protocols on FPGA boards.
  • Conducting experiments and performance analysis to evaluate the developed solutions.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers to integrate research findings into practical applications.
  • Publish research findings in prestigious conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in one of the following majors: Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science and Engineering, with strong background in Electronics, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems and Hardware Design.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Matlab, Hardware Description Languages (Verilog or VHDL), low-frequency circuit design and analysis, and PCB design are required.
  • Proficiency in using FPGA development tools (for example, Xilinx Vivado) and hardware description languages. Familiarity with Software Defined Networking, SmartNICs, RDMA is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in wireless communication standards, such as Wi-Fi, 5G/6G, or similar technologies.
  • ASIC design and Machine Learning algorithms is desired but not required.
  • Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively and collegially in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications.
