ESMT Berlin seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher (gn) to join the European Expectations Center, led by Professor Michael Weber. Qualifications

PhD in economics, finance, or a related field by start date.
Ability to conduct independent empirical and/or theoretical research.
Experience with unstructured data methods.
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis.
Experience running information-provision experiments in surveys is a plus.
Fluency in English; German knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Contribute to internationally visible research agenda.
Conduct independent research in belief formation in macroeconomics and finance.
Supervise and mentor pre-doctoral research assistants.
Assist in strategic development of the research program.
Present findings at national and international conferences.
Contribute to grant applications; no teaching obligations.

What makes you a great fit

Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related field by the start date
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent empirical and/or theoretical research on the formation and role of subjective beliefs in economic decision-making
Experience with methods for working with unstructured data
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis
Prior experience running information-provision experiments embedded in surveys is a plus
Fluency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not required
