Institute of Sociology, Methods of Empirical Social Research, is currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher. The position is funded subject to funding approval by third party and offered until 31 December 2029. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13). It is based at the LOEWE Center “DynaRel”. The project “Dynamics of Religion: Ambivalent Neighborhoods between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Historical and Contemporary Constellations,” brings together Goethe University Frankfurt, Philipps University of Marburg and Justus Liebig University Giessen in interdisciplinary collaboration with international and national partners. The project “The influence of religious neighborhoods on the acculturation of migrants in the context of secularization and social polarization” (PI: Prof. Dr. Antje Röder) aims to operationalize the concept of “neighborhoods” for quantitative religious research and to further develop it theoretically. Empirically, it links survey data at the individual level with relevant contextual variables in order to examine their effects at the local and national levels.
This is a fixed‑term project position. The contract is not concluded under Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed‑Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).
