The University of Konstanz invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Sociology, in the working group “Sociology – Social Movements” as part of the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality.” The position is full-time (100%), Salary Scale E 13 TV-L, for up to 24 months starting November 2026.
We seek a PhD holder with experience in political sociology or related fields, strong quantitative skills, and excellent English communication.

The working group of “Sociology – Social Movements” led by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Koos investigates the determinants and consequences of political protest, civic engagement and solidarity, including forms of helping and altruistic behavior. We study this in the context of social problems, such as inequality, climate change or threats to democracy, often from an international comparative perspective.
