Prof. Sarah Hedtrich, the recently appointed Chair of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at LMU Munich, is now recruiting ambitious candidates to help build a dynamic research lab in Munich.
The Hedtrich’s lab mission is to understand and tackle mechanisms of inflammatory and genetic diseases of human epithelia and translate these insights into meaningful therapeutic strategies. We tackle complex biological questions through highly interdisciplinary approaches, working at the interface of pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, and medicine in close collaboration with leading experts across fields. We are building a driven, collaborative, and forward‑thinking team, and we are looking for curious, motivated individuals who want to make a tangible impact through cutting‑edge research.
Postdoc (m/f/x)
Location: München
The project Bioengineering Complex Disease Models of Epithelia aims for the generation, validation and application of human epithelial models including organ-on-chip approaches to emulate inflammatory and infectious diseases of the skin and lungs. Following successful generation, the models will be leveraged to unravel disease-related mechanisms in single state and multi-organ settings. The development of own research projects and ideas will be encouraged. Our projects have a strong translational aspect with the ultimate goal to translate our technology from bench‑to‑bedside. Hence, interest in translational work at the forefront of science is a clear asset. Further, the establishment of an independent profile as well as tailored career‑planning will be offered to the successful incumbent.
People with disabilities who are equally as qualified as other applicants will receive preferential treatment.
