Jobbeschreibung
Overview

The Department of Molecular and Oncological Gynecology at the University Hospital Frankfurt invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to join an innovative project investigating IVT-mRNA-based reactivation of tumor suppressor pathways in ovarian cancer. The project focuses on developing and preclinical validation of next-generation lipid nanoparticle (LNP) carriers for IVT-mRNA delivery, functionalized and non-functionalized with antibodies. Studies will use patient-derived organoids and in vivo models, including orthotopic and metastatic ovarian cancer mouse models and PDX models, to improve targeted therapy and translational application.

Universitätsmedizin Frankfurt is a leading University Clinic with diverse, international collaboration and a commitment to combining patient care, research and teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research into the role of IVT-mRNA in the restoration of tumor-suppressor genes in ovarian cancer and reversing therapy resistance.
  • Perform mouse model experiments, including tumor induction, in vivo drug treatment, and assessment of tumor response using bioluminescence imaging.
  • Develop patient-derived organoid cultures.
  • Perform functional assays to assess cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis, and drug sensitivity in cancer models.
  • Develop and implement innovative therapeutic strategies, including combination treatments with targeted IVT-mRNA and cisplatin.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians to interpret experimental results and drive the research forward.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in working with different mouse models, including tumor injection, intraperitoneal and intravenous treatment of mice, and in vivo treatments.
  • Expertise in working with bioluminescence-based tumor imaging in vivo is highly desirable.
  • FELASA Certificate is mandatory for the position.
  • Knowledge of oncological therapeutic approaches, including combination therapies and targeted inhibition.
  • Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
Additional Information
  • Part-time employment is possible; we offer childcare in our daycare center (contact UKF-Familienservice) and childcare during holidays.
  • Free public transport in all Hessen (Free State Ticket Hessen).
  • Internal and external training for professional development.
  • Attractive salary based on a collective agreement with an annual special payment and long-term security through pension schemes.
  • Health offers with regular online and in-person courses on nutrition, relaxation, sports and exercise.
