The role includes co-supervising students, presenting at conferences, and collaborating with DSMZ and interdisciplinary teams. Fluency in English is required; German knowledge is a plus.
The Hannover Medical School ( MHH ), with about 10,000 employees the biggest company of Lower Saxony, is a university institution for research and teaching in the human and dental medicine and a university hospital of supra-maximum medical care. The research group “Clinical Data Science” focuses on the detection of novel routine clinical and -omics biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prognosis to personalize and thus improve patient treatment. To achieve this, we integrate phenotypical information and routine clinical as well as (multi)-omics data by high-dimensional statistics and state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to gain novel insights into underlying disease pathomechanisms. Moreover, we are interested in developing and implementing research data platforms for complex (multi-)omics data. The project “MALDIDive : Enabling AI Research with Public MALDI-TOF Fingerprints across Microbial Diversity”, to be carried out within an interdisciplinary research team and funded by the German Research Foundation, will establish a well curated data platform of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry datasets from the Leibniz Institute German Collection of Mircoorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH (DSMZ). We are looking for an enthusiastic PostDoc who is interested in omics data platform development and deployment for future AI use.
