Post-Doctoral Research Scientist (m/f/d) in the field of Physics, Chemistry or Process Engineering – renewable energy technologies and hydrogen. Located in Taufkirchen near Munich, we are an aviation think tank focused on science-based answers to tomorrow’s air transport.

Responsibilities
- Development of strategic research directions in the fields of hydrogen aviation and future renewable energy technologies in search for long-term solutions to achieve climate neutrality
- Leading research on green hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), including innovative conversion pathways based on solar energy (e.g. sun-to-liquid-2.eu) and residual biomass (e.g. project-circulair.eu), with system-level life cycle and techno-economic analysis
- Acquisition and implementation of multi-partner projects, and coordination of national and European research networks
- Supervision of PhD students and undergraduates
- Communication of research results and recommendations through journal publications, conferences and media channels
We need you because
- You have completed your studies with a PhD in physics, chemistry or process engineering, with a profound understanding of renewable energy technologies and hydrogen
- You bring scientific creativity together with strong quantitative analytical skills and programming expertise
- You have a strong interest in climate-impact mitigation, SAF pathways, and life-cycle and/or cost analysis
- You are familiar with sustainability aspects of renewable energy technologies and can work into new topics
- You are passionate about contributing scientific answers to enable the transition to renewable energy and fuels in aviation
- You are interested in multidisciplinary, target-oriented tasks within joint academic or industry projects
- You are proficient in German and English
