Zusammenfassung

Kleinanzeigen is seeking a Policy Manager in Berlin-Charlottenburg to shape Trust & Safety policies across Legal, Product, Customer Service, Privacy, Fraud, Moderation, Analytics, and Marketing. You will translate complex legal and business requirements into scalable marketplace policies while balancing user experience and risk.

The role is hybrid with the Berlin office as a base. Responsibilities include end-to-end policy lifecycle, governance, and ongoing risk monitoring to ensure compliant

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Policy Management, Risk, Compliance, or related field.
• Experience translating complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear policies.
• Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication in German and English.

Aufgaben

• Own the full lifecycle of Kleinanzeigen's Trust & Safety policies, from development and implementation to governance, maintenance, and retirement.
• Develop clear, enforceable marketplace policies and operational guidelines that balance customer experience, platform safety, legal compliance, and business objectives.
• Partner closely with Product, Legal, Privacy, Customer Service, Fraud, Moderation, Analytics, and Marketing to support new products and features, assess policy implications, and resolve policy ambiguities.
• Translate new legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Digital Services Act (DSA) and privacy obligations, into practical operational policies and enforcement frameworks.
• Establish and maintain policy governance, including review processes, approvals, version control, communication, and a central repository for policies and enforcement standards.
• Continuously monitor emerging marketplace risks, customer expectations, and regulatory developments to evolve policies and ensure consistent application across the business.

The Job

Trust is at the heart of every successful marketplace. As our Policy Manager, you will shape the policies that protect millions of users while enabling a seamless customer experience. You will work across Legal, Product, Customer Service, Privacy, Fraud, Moderation, Analytics, and Marketing to turn complex legal and business requirements into clear, practical, and scalable marketplace policies. This is a hybrid role, our office is in Berlin-Charlottenburg. You report to the Director Customer Service.

Job requirements

• You bring 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Policy Management, Risk, Compliance, Marketplace Operations, or a related field, ideally in a digital platform or marketplace environment.
• You have experience translating complex legal, regulatory, and business requirements into clear, practical, and scalable operational policies.
• You are a strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management skills and enjoy collaborating across Product, Legal, Customer Service, Privacy, and other cross-functional teams to drive alignment.
• You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing customer experience with safety, risk, and regulatory requirements, and making well‑reasoned decisions in a fast‑changing environment.
• You have excellent communication skills in both German and English, enabling you to communicate complex topics clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
