The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Industrial components and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look for you to :

Planning

  • Develop and plan new workstations and complete production lines, including internal and external operations, work sequences, and equipment.
  • Integrate EHS principles, ergonomic standards, and methodologies such as LEAN, Continuous Improvement (CI), KAIZEN, and APSYS.
  • Define production cycle times, materials, tools, and all relevant process data with clarity and precision.
  • Conduct manufacturing trials and test setups, including planning and executing type testing.
  • Identify, propose, and document process improvements to meet performance and efficiency targets.
  • Review and optimize technical documents and design specifications; supplement and correct as needed.
  • Calculate manufacturing costs and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Recommend design changes and calculate potential cost savings.
  • Assess manufacturing capacity requirements based on production plans and perform target vs. actual comparisons.
  • Evaluate in-house vs. outsourced production costs and present viable alternatives.
  • Determine technical and personnel capacity needs.
  • Monitor release dates and deployment schedules to ensure timely execution.

Planning of Complex Equipment

  • Plan the type and quantity of multifunctional equipment required for production.
  • Independently initiate the manufacturing and procurement of equipment.

Work Preparation and Implementation

  • Plan and coordinate activities for setting up production lines in line with target deadlines and capacity goals.
  • Lead and supervise implementation efforts on the shop floor.
  • Manage workstation and line approvals, oversee production ramp-up, and ensure smooth handover to series production.
  • Define work steps and sequences, and determine optimal batch sizes.
  • Calculate and establish standard times for operations.
  • Implement rationalization measures to reduce standard times and overall lead times.

All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Relevant professional experience in process analysis and design, as well as in determining and applying process data (REFA Certificate 1 + 2)

  • Experience and confident demeanor in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Results-oriented working style
  • Proficient in common engineering tools (e.g., CATIA, PDM), as well as SAP and MS Office
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written
