HelloFresh, a food and consumer services company, is seeking a Data Platform Engineer in Berlin to build and operate scalable, reliable data infrastructure. You will work with streaming systems like Kafka, Flink, and Terraform tooling, owning real-time data flows and improving platform efficiency.

You will collaborate with analytics and software teams, participate in on-call rotations, and help automate the platform to run with minimal human intervention.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience as a data, software, or platform engineer building and operating production data infrastructure at scale.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in a backend language such as Go, Java, Scala, or Python.
• Deep experience with event streaming and messaging systems, especially Kafka, in production.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and their trade-offs.
• Experience building infrastructure on AWS with Terraform, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Strong ownership mindset focused on reliability, efficiency, and developer experience.
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and automating away toil.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
• Nice to have: experience with Flink, stream processing, Kafka Connect, self-service developer platforms, and data lake architectures.

Aufgaben
